Kernan Yacht Design did surface modeling and composite structures engineering for this Bonneville flats Land Speed Record attempt car. Kernan Yacht Design also provided mesh models for CFD analysis.

The Emergency Rudder shown was a custom design for a 70' sailing vessel planning on doing Transpac. It is fabricated of Aluminum and Stainless Steel. It has been designed such that it is easily assembled and deployed but can also be stowed easily below.

Kernan Yacht Design provided surface modeling for Anish Kapoor's celebrated "Cloud Gate" sculpture in Chicago's Millenium Park. After creation of a surface model from sketches provided by the artist, the model was split into roughly 168 sections which were CNC cut from stainless steel plate and assembled by Performance Structures to create a highly polished seamless organic sculpture. The sculpture is 10m x 20m x 13m and weighs 110 tons.

Kernan Yacht Design provided the design for the casing of this SCUBA “rebreather.” Surfaces were modeled to extremely high tolerances to insure exact fit of all components and ergonomic suitability. Surface files were provided for molds to be cut with a 5-axis CNC mill.
